There are 4 icons - one for each parallel port, and one for the serial port. Non-
existent ports are grayed out. Selecting an icon will result in a screen like the
following example.

If the printer is Bi-directional, and is not busy, the Configuration button will be
available, allowing you to change the configuration of the attached printer. This
button will be grayed out if the printer does not support this option, or if the printer
is busy printing.
If available, clicking the Configuration button in the Printer Status window will
reveal a window like the following example.

Environment
Variable
This list of printer configuration variables will vary from
printer to printer.
Variable Value
Displays the current setting. To change the Variable Value
(if Read Only is NO) double click the line you wish to
change, then enter or select a new value.
Read Only
Indicates whether or not the environment variable is
adjustable.
